"Guide us to the straight path" (ihdinas-siratal mustaqeem) is the most powerful dua for new beginnings in existence. It is a prayer for direction, orientation, and divine navigation on whatever path you are about to walk.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) called it Umm al-Quran — the Mother of the Quran — and the greatest surah in the Book (Sahih al-Bukhari 4474).

Surah Al-Inshirah — For Beginnings After Hardship

If your new beginning comes after something hard — a loss, a failure, a struggle that finally ended — this is your surah.

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

Fa inna ma'al 'usri yusra. Inna ma'al 'usri yusra.

"For indeed, with hardship will be ease. Indeed, with hardship will be ease." — (Surah Al-Inshirah, 94:5-6)

Scholars noted something remarkable about this verse: the word 'usr (hardship) comes with the definite article ("the hardship"), while yusr (ease) does not — meaning there is one hardship but the ease comes in multiple forms. And Allah repeated it twice, as if to make certain we heard it the first time.
